A bespoke furniture collection for a villa
Nine pieces designed for a single house: a sideboard, a coffee table, a headboard, a bench, a bookcase, a console, two side tables and an armchair. Bespoke work is worth it when the piece solves a problem that off-the-shelf furniture cannot.

Study project: this case describes a typical commission handled by the practice and the trade-offs it involves. The visuals are computer-generated images produced by the studio, not photographs of a completed project.
When bespoke furniture makes sense
Bespoke furniture is only justified in three cases: a dimension that simply cannot be found, a very specific use, or a piece that gives structure to the space. For everything else, ready-made furniture is faster, often better finished, and easy to replace.
Here, the length of the living room and the ceiling height meant that any standard piece would have looked either too small or out of proportion.
From sketch to workshop drawing
Every piece goes through three stages: a concept sketch, a dimensioned drawing with joinery details, then a prototype for the two most complex pieces. Timbers and finishes are approved from physical samples, never from a photograph.
Cane was chosen to lighten the large volumes visually and to draw on a local craft that is still very much alive.
Working with Moroccan workshops
Fabrication is entrusted to local joinery and metalwork workshops, based on detailed shop drawings. I follow the work on site, with at least two visits for each complex piece: after machining, then before finishing.
It is this mid-stage checking that prevents unpleasant surprises on delivery day.
Always plan ahead
Ten weeks of fabrication, to be launched well before the building work ends. Bespoke furniture ordered after handover means three months in a half-empty home.
The same logic applies to all my interior architecture commissions.
